General Description:
This position is responsible for providing instructional support to students, ages 3-5, that reside in the Wilbur D Mills Education Service Cooperative, who meet the special education qualifications. Services are provided in accordance with Individuals with Disabilities Education Act on behalf of the public schools.
Certifications:
Special Education Instructional Specialist PK-4 (231)
and/or
ECH/SP.Ed. Integ (252)
Duties:
- Must be certified in the area or willing to obtain the appropriate certification through ADE
- Work 190 day contract
- Provide special education services to children ages 3-5
- Have knowledge of IDEA regulations
- Complete Due process paperwork for students on caseload
- Provide FAPE to preschool students by managing a caseload
- Assist with screenings as needed
- Travel and work within the WDMESC region
- Maintain confidentiality and detailed documentation on student services
- Support the team by collaborating and effectively communicating with other professionals to support student success
- Be able to multitask and work under pressure
- Other duties as assigned to promote student success
