American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter to join our team full-time. The interpreter will provide communication access for students who are deaf or hard of hearing, supporting their learning and engagement in the classroom. This position plays an essential role in fostering an inclusive and accessible educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Interpret spoken English into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa for students, staff, and families as needed.
Facilitate effective communication in both classroom instruction and preschool activities.
Collaborate with teachers, staff, and specialists to support students’ educational and social development.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards of practice.
Participate in meetings, trainings, and professional development as required.
Qualifications:
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) certification required, or willingness to obtain certification within a designated timeframe.
Experience working with young children in an educational setting preferred, but not required.
Commitment to supporting inclusive early childhood education.
