General Description:

This position is responsible for providing instructional support to students, ages 3-5, that reside in the Wilbur D Mills Education Service Cooperative, who meet the special education qualifications. Services are provided in accordance with Individuals with Disabilities Education Act on behalf of the public schools.

Special Education Instructional Specialist PK-4 (231)

and/or

ECH/SP.Ed. Integ (252)

 

 

Duties:

• Must be certified in the area or willing to obtain the appropriate certification through ADE
• Work 190 day contract 
• Provide special education services to children ages 3-5
• Have knowledge of IDEA regulations
• Complete Due process paperwork for students on caseload
• Provide FAPE to preschool students by managing a caseload
• Assist with screenings as needed
• Travel and work within the WDMESC region 
• Maintain confidentiality and detailed documentation on student services
• Support the team by collaborating and effectively communicating with other professionals to support student success
• Be able to multitask and work under pressure
• Other duties as assigned to promote student success
